Honour boards for Athlone Rowing club

The new honours board for Athlone Boat Club was made to honour it's members who took part in international competition while representing the club.. the board is stained mahogany mdf with mahogany frame.. I like boards to be lined out completely as sometimes when a board is starting from new, it may have only a few entries and can look very bare with all the space underneath it.. the linework visually fills the board and makes it more pleasing to look at..

Some signmakers put in bigger type instead of lines to fill this void, but after 10 or more years the board starts to fill up . An honours board is a history of the club and should be planned to accommodate 50 years plus..

Tullamore golf club has an amazing board going back 100 years with various styles of hand painted lettering over the years.. this enhances the boards look as the different signwriters had their own style at their time of lettering
