New Honour Board

Ths week we are starting a new honour Board for the association of Racehorse Owners, which will be on display with the champion trainers, leading trainers and champion Jockey boards in Punchestown racecourse. There will be 75 years of goldleaf entries from 1950 to the present.. we are in the process of making and lacquering the board and should be lettering it next week. Lettering in gold leaf involves laying out the board with titles, headings columns and line work.. once you have your layout done the letters are painted on, free hand, with size.. This is an exact footprint of each letter and when the size reaches the perfect tack, the gold leaf is applied and it adheres to the surface of the letter.. too soft and the gold sinks, too dry and the gold won't stick.. I will give further detail when the board is ready for lettering
